La conosciuta ditta di Andrea Bolis, specializzata nella ristrutturazione dei kayak in vetroresina, si è offerta di sostenere nuovamente il nostro viaggio, dopo averci seguito in Scozia ed in Grecia!
Andrea lavora con passione ed è capace di intuire le esigenze dei suoi affezionati clienti perchè è lui stesso un bravo kayaker (marino, fluviale e canadesista), tanto che ha di recente vinto il primo premio al Campionato Italiano di Eskimo Groenlandese 2010.
Chi si dedica da anni alla appassionante attività del kayak da mare ben conosce le difficoltà di effettuare “in privato” gli indispensabili lavori di manutenzione dello scafo, magari lavorando con colle e solventi nel polveroso garage di casa, dove l’umidità può rendere vani tutti i nostri sforzi!
D’ora in avanti, invece, potremo affidare il nostro kayak ad Andrea per i lavori di ordinaria e straordinaria manutenzione: sostituire il tappo tondo di prua con uno ovale più comodo per lo stivaggio, oppure per restaurare il ponte da troppo tempo vessato dagli agenti atmosferici tanto che il bianco iniziale si è inesorabilmente tramutato in un grigio spento, o ancora per adattare un tubo più lungo alla pompa di sentina ed arrivare a pescare l’acqua finalmente nel punto più basso del pozzetto: dietro il seggiolino!
Abbiamo concordato con Andrea di consegnargli i nostri kayak al rientro dalla spedizione a Creta così lui potrà restaurarli; farà sparire graffi ed ammaccature e ce li restituirà lindi e pinti, pronti per nuove avventure!
A new sponsor has joined the "Crete kayak tour 2010": Kayak Rescue!
The well-known firm managed by Andrea Bolis and specialized in restructuring fiberglass kayaks, has kindly offered to support our new expedition to Crete, after our kayak trips to Scotland and Greece!
Andrea is a good artisan and an excellent kayaker: he spends his week-end doing sea kayak, white water kayak and open canoe and he recently won the first place in the Italian Championship od Greenland Roll.
Who loves the exciting activities of sea kayaking well-knows the difficulties in carrying out the necessary maintenance work of the hull, possibly working with glues and solvents in the dusty garage at home, where the humidity can make vain our efforts!
From now on, we can entrust our kayak to Andrea to replace the round bow hatch with an oval one, more convenient for storing large dry bags, or to restore the deck because the too long use has turned the initial brite white into a mat gray, or to adapt a longer hose to the pump bilge to finally capture the water from the lowest point of the cockpit: behind the seat!
We've arranged a good sponsorship with Andrea: we will "rescue" our kayak after Crete expedition and after 30 days padlle and more of 60 landings.
We're sure to receive two new kayaks, ready to new adventures!
